ABOUT THE ROLE

• Have a real impact on our Google Cloud Platform’s infrastructure design and growth
• Keep the platform state of the art, enhance it daily with new features, and secure the existing ones
• Guide our cross-functional engineering teams towards best technical practices and tailor the infrastructure to support their goals
• Grow professionally and specialise in an area of your interest, examples:
  
  • Work at the intersection of Big Data, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics
  • Explore DevSecOps - work with SIEM, anomaly detection, and zero-trust designs

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps / Platform Engineer / System Administrator roles
• Solid experience in any public cloud (we’re using GCP, but AWS or Azure experience is also welcome)
• Fluency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Experience with scripting automation and CI/CD pipelines - both usage and design (we’re using Github Actions, but other tools are welcome too) 
• Experience with containerized solutions (we’re using GKE, Cloud Run and Cloud Functions, but any competitive solutions are also welcome)
• Experience with cloud-based monitoring (cloud-native solutions and the more generic ones, based on Grafana / Prometheus stack)
• Security-first approach, experience in designing infrastructure in a secure, least-privilege manner, as well as hardening any vulnerable configurations
• Proactive approach to finding solutions and improvements in any area
• High level of self-organization, independent thinking and ability to make your own decisions 
• Ability to brainstorm and co-create new solutions, both business and technical
• Team player attitude and strong communications skills
• Adaptability, agile mindset and ability to learn fast 
• Advanced English

IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU ALSO HAVE

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with Github and Github Actions
• Proficiency with cloud-based networking
• Familiarity with any of the Big Data / Data Analytics tools (we’re using DBT, Airbyte, Apache Airflow / Cloud Composer, Redash, Big Query)
